Ocean Rafting : 1 day Southern Lights Tour
Visit the "wild side" of the Whitsundays on the Southern Lights tour, visiting both the northern and southern ends of Whitehaven Beach.
Day Trip - Southern Lights Tour
Visit both the northern and southern ends of world famous Whitehaven Beach and spend at least two hours relaxing on the white silica sand or exploring the 7km stretch of beach. Ocean Rafting is the only tour to have direct access to stunning Hill Inlet beach. Walk to the Southern Whitehaven lookout with breathtaking views of Pentecost Island and the tropical waters of the Whitsundays, and join the guided walk to the stunning Hill Inlet lookout. Snorkel for over an hour at Border Island, Dumbell Island or one of our “secret” snorkel spots and enjoy the amazing hard and soft corals of the fringing reefs. You can see why we call it 3 days in one!
The main difference between the two tours is that the Southern Lights has more beach time and the Northern Exposure offers more snorkelling time.
Visit both the northern and southern ends of Whitehaven Beach. Join our guided walk to the Hill Inlet Lookout and snorkel for over an hour at Border Island, Dumbell Island or one of our secret snorkel spots. We will visit the best spot on the day, weather depending. Tour includes courtesy bus pickup, personalised snorkel instruction, reef and island naturalist talks, guided National Park walk, snorkel floatation devices, use of snorkel equipment, tea, coffee and cake.
Extra Cost: Lunch, sun suits, drinks and snacks.
Ocean Rafting is an Australian Tourism Award winner and offers the fastest tour around the Whitsunday Islands, exploring Whitehaven Beach, snorkelling pristine reefs and tropical island guided walks.
The focus of Ocean Rafting is on adventure, participation, education, and the natural environment, appealing to the adventurous and the young at heart. Ocean Rafting is exciting, different and fun.
Ocean Rafting was the first tour company in the Whitsundays to hold ecological accreditation from the Ecotourism Association of Australia, an accolade of which they are very proud. With a cruising speed of over 30 knots, the vessels can explore vast areas of the Whitsundays in one day - but the design of the vessel reduces fuel usage and impact and therefore is more environmentally friendly.
A complement of only 25 to 32 guests and 2 crew on each vessel allows for personal service, from the courtesy bus pick up in the morning, individual snorkel lessons, and guided National Park walking trails. 70% of the boats are under shade providing comfort from the tropical sun.
Ocean Rafting has built a reputation of consistent customer satisfaction. Our visitors book says it all. The company has two distinctly different tours, which both depart daily from Coral Sea Resort in Airlie Beach...the Southern Lights and the Northern Exposure.
Buffet style lunch $15 per person.
Drinks, snacks and wetsuit hire optional extras.
